Hemorrhoids Tips for the Holidays

We at Western Herbal would like to take time out to wish you and your family a happy holiday season. In that same vein, and wishing you the best of health, we thought that we would share with you that our busiest days for our Hemorrhoid product, Hem-Relief, come right after a major holiday. As a courtesy, we thought we would share with you a quick list of Hemorrhoids tips for the 2008 holiday season.

Tips for avoiding Hemorrhoids this season:
Overindulgence is often the culprit for Hemorrhoid suffering. We have experience in this area, and have assembled a list of the usual suspects. If you currently are experiencing a bout with Hemorrhoids, the following foods are a no-no. If you are currently Hemmy-Free, perhaps a little indulgence is O.K.

1) Alcohol - Probably most of us are aware of the link between alcohol and Hemorrhoids, but year after year, the busiest day for Hem-Relief sales is the Monday following Super Bowl Sunday. Yes, beer. The devil may actually be in the brewers yeast and not so much the alcohol itself. Moderation is the key. If you are currently suffering with Hemorrhoids, we recommend total avoidance of Alcoholic Beverages.

2) Potatoes - We all love them, most of us anyway, but it has a high glycemic index. Meaning: if sugar is 100 on the scale, potatoes are around 90, depending on the other ingredients in the salad. Many Hemorrhoid sufferers have already made that connection to diet and Hemorrhoids. Potato salad or scalloped potatoes are a guaranteed episode for some people. Additional things to avoid in large amounts when suffering.

3) Nuts - Say nuts to nuts if you are suffering with Hemorrhoids. Probably one of the best recipes for Hemorrhoids is too many beers and nuts at the ballgame. Again, moderation is the key, and total avoidance if you feel the tinge that tells you your Hemorrhoids may be right around the corner.

4) Candy, sweets, and chocolate - A trip to the local market or fair may be just the ticket for you and your family, but, try to avoid too much sugar and junk food. Many Hemorrhoid sufferers are able to make the obvious connection between too much sugar and their problem.

5) Whole foods, yogurt, fresh fruit and veggies will probably serve you best this season.

We wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season, where sitting down presents you with zero discomfort.Have a happy and safe holiday season!
